(KNSI)—St. Cloud’s fire chief will assume a second hat until the city finds a new administrator.

Mayor Jake Anderson made the announcement on Wednesday.  Matt Love He graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School with a certificate in public leadership, specifically state and local administration.

A press release from the city says within his role at various fire departments across the country, Love has always emphasized and promoted training and developing leadership skills. Anderson said he has “every confidence in Chief Love’s ability to lead our city in the interim, honoring our values and our vision for high quality city services.”

St. Cloud is planning to conduct a national search for a permanent administrator. An executive committee is being established, and a formal announcement on the recruitment process will be made soon. Former administrator Matt Staehling left the position January 13th after 29 years to take the same job at the City of Duluth.
