(KNSI) – After over seven years patrolling the streets of Cold Spring, a K9 officer is hanging up the leash.
The city council will hear from Police Chief Jason Blum Wednesday as he recommends retirement for veteran shepherd, Cash. The dog will continue to live with his human partner, Officer Spoden.
Expect his golden years to be filled with scratches behind the ears, plenty of games of fetch, and a treat or two after a career well done.
The other significant item is a potential purchase of a versa-vac trailer. The issue was tabled recently as the council wanted the public works director to seek a second estimate. After shopping around, the initial request is being resubmitted.
The mounted vacuum unit has a price tag of just over $275,000. It is used in the wastewater treatment plant to hoover up sediment and other debris from holding tanks and pipes.
The session starts at 5:00 p.m.
