(KNSI) — Crews from seven fire departments battled extreme cold and intense flames at a Wright County egg farm on Monday.
According to the sheriff’s department, the fire was reported just after 5:30 a.m. at Forsman Farms in Howard Lake. When deputies arrived, they found one of the farm’s barns fully engulfed.
Cokato, Dassel, Howard Lake, Litchfield, Montrose, Waverly, and Winsted collaborated to extinguish the fire. Authorities believe the damage was contained to a single barn.
According to the company website, the farm produces six million eggs per day in the form of shell and liquid and delivers products to some of the nation’s largest retailers and food service companies.
