What is Open and Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Inauguration Day?

(KNSI) – There are two important holidays today. One is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the other is Inauguration Day. The two don’t normally coincide, but today is special. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is always celebrated on the third Monday in January and Inauguration Day is always held January 20th per the U.S. Constitution.

So, what is open and closed on this double holiday day?

Retailers such as Walmart, Target, Coborn’s, Sam’s Club, and Costco are all operating on normal hours today. FedEx will have modified delivery service, but UPS is closed. UPS Store locations will be open. The U.S. Postal Service is closed so there is no mail.

New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq are closed. Many bank branches will be closed today, but ATMs and online banking is business as usual.

City, county, state and federal offices are shuttered for today as are the DMV and all branches of the Great River Regional Library.

Parking downtown St. Cloud is free.
