(KNSI) – A Minnesota telecommunications company is celebrating its diamond anniversary.

Arvig Communications is turning 75 in 2025 and has a fun way to share its story. Communications Manager Rachel Laudenbach explained to KNSI News that they’d be digging into the archives, “We will be sharing on social media our history with all of our employees and customers. We actually have social media trivia going on where monthly, we’re inviting our customers to give us the answer and then they have a chance to win prizes.”

She says Arvig started as a telephone company and has really grown from when its roots were planted in Perham in 1950. “It started with about 20 employees, and we’re up to 900-plus now. We started out with not even knowing what fiber was or that the internet was going to be there, and now it’s the biggest part of our business.”

Now in its fourth generation, Arvig continues to add to its 17,500-mile fiber network targeting rural customers and recently expanded to offer cell phone service.

Laudenbach had one last thing to say about their 75 years of service. “The biggest thing is we just want to make sure we say thank you to all of our employees, customers, friends and family that have supported us through the years. We couldn’t have done it without them.”
