(KNSI) – The 2nd annual Bold and Bright festival will build on what was done last year with stronger cooperation bringing east end partners on board.
St. Cloud Downtown Alliance Director Rachel Lolmasteymaugh says the first event will involve businesses on both sides of the river. “It starts on Friday, the 24th of January, and we’re going to have an art crawl because that is something that people always ask for. They love our art crawls. They want to go from business to business downtown, see the amazing artists that we have. We’re going to have it from 10th Avenue all the way over to the east side.”
Saturday will be the bulk of activities, including curling on Lake George, a petting zoo with llamas and a maker’s market. Lolmasteymaugh can’t wait for the nightcap. “And then we end with the lights parade. That’s a huge draw. People love it. We have a huge parade going right down [West] St. Germain. And after the parade, we’re going to end the whole night with a fireworks display.”
In the daytime, there is curling on Lake George, a petting zoo with llamas and a maker’s market. A stroll along West St. Germain Street should include a stop by a live ice carving demonstration, and the Paramount Theatre will be playing the family film Happy Feet. Another fun opportunity for families is the ‘Meet the Mascot’ event. Chisel from the Rox, SCSU’s Blizzard, and many others will be on hand.
Sunday is the wrap-up, with several activities planned throughout downtown inspired by board games.
