St. Cloud Craft Beer Tour to Bring 90s Beach Vibes and Over 50 Breweries to River’s Edge Convention Center

(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Craft Beer Tour will have your taste buds surfing on suds next week.

The River’s Edge Convention Center will look a little like Malibu with this year’s retro tropical 90s beach vibes theme. Attendees are invited to dig out their favorite neon shirts and windbreakers and grab a pair of pit viper or synthesizer shades as they try drinks from over 50 breweries across the Midwest.

Leighton Media Executive Director of Events Cole Erie told KNSI News he’s amazed at all the flavors these beer makers crank out. “These brewers are like mad scientists. I’m telling you, I don’t know where they get these ideas from. I don’t know if it comes to them in a dream. I don’t know if there are generations of Einsteins,” but their collective creative genius means there’s a brew for everyone. “Whether you love craft beer and you are a craft beer connoisseur, you’re a beer geek, you’re a Cicerone, you love it, or you think that you don’t like craft beer, this event is for you.”

Revelers can get a two-ounce sample mug to taste as many beers as they like and rinse stations to dump what they don’t. There are plenty of trophies up for grabs this year. VIP participants get in an hour early and can vote for the Brewers Cup. Everyone can vote for the People’s Choice Awards, Best Beer, Best Brewery, Best Not Beer and Best Themed Booth.

Erie pointed out that when you help yourself to some of the samples, you’re also helping out the United Way of Central Minnesota. “A portion of the proceeds does go back to that organization. So you can sip samples and support a wonderful cause, knowing that part of your ticket price is going right back to those who need it right here in our community.”

The Craft Beer Tour is on Saturday, January 18th, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
