(KNSI) – An apartment fire in St. Cloud is under investigation after leaving a third-floor unit uninhabitable on Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to a complex in the 600 block of 15th Street South around 1:30. As first responders arrived, they could see flames coming out of multiple windows and people evacuating the building.
SCFD crews quickly attacked the burning apartment by pouring water on the blaze and searching the entire building for residents. The fire department brought the flames under control in minutes. Firefighters ventilated the smoke out of the building and salvaged some of the renters’ stuff.
The unit where the fire started was wrecked, and the occupants couldn’t stay there. The remaining residents were able to return to their homes.
The fire marshal’s office is looking into the cause of the blaze.
