(KNSI) — CentraCare released the most popular baby names of 2024 on Tuesday.

The names blend timeless classics with modern favorites, balancing enduring tradition and contemporary influences.

Last year, 3,816 babies were born in the CentraCare system, down from 3,844 in 2023. The gender split was 51% boys and 49% girls, with at least one baby born every day of the year. The most popular day to give birth was Friday, with October being the busiest month. The quietest month was September. Last year was a leap year, and CentraCare saw a whopping ten babies born on February 29th.

The top names for boys were Liam, Henry, Hudson, Jackson, Levi, Mohamed, Noah, Oliver, Owen, and Theodore. For girls, the names were Eleanor, Amelia, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Emma, Harper, Lainey, Olivia, Sophia, and Willow. In 2023, the most popular names were Oliver for boys and Hazel for girls. Eleanor, this year’s top girl name, didn’t even make the top 10 last year. Conversely, Hazel dropped out of the top 10 entirely.

“We are thankful for so many families choosing and trusting CentraCare to support them through their deliveries,” said Hallie Johnson, Senior Director of Women & Newborn Health for CentraCare. “Our incredible clinicians and nursing staff feel privileged to celebrate and honor each newborn, playing a small role in welcoming babies into the world.”
