(KNSI) – Changes could be coming to the boundaries of four District 742 elementary schools.
The board will hear a presentation on Wednesday that could reduce enrollment at Oak Hill, Talahi, and Lincoln in favor of sending kids to Clearview. The move is being considered due to space concerns.
The plan would send children living along the County Road 75 corridor in the St. Augusta area and those south of County Road 8/Minnesota Boulevard to the school near Clear Lake. If the strategy is approved, there are some exceptions.
Students already enrolled at the three St. Cloud schools would be grandfathered in. The new maps would only apply to future classes. Families with a child going to Oak Hill, Talahi, or Lincoln who find themselves living in a different zone could send their younger children there as well.
Wednesday’s presentation is informational only. No action will be taken, but the public is welcome to attend and weigh in on the issue. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the District Administration Office in Waite Park and is available online.
