(KNSI) – Stearns County Parks Department and the Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota announced Thursday that the Moonlight Ski event at Quarry Park is canceled.
It was supposed to run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, but extremely cold wind chills and icy conditions are putting a stop to it. Organizers say they hope to reschedule later on this winter.
Friday’s forecasted high is 10 degrees, with wind chills below zero. There is also precious little white stuff on the ground, and the trails are slick.
The lights will be on over the weekend, but anybody using the trails, even if on a hike, is urged to be cautious.
