(KNSI) — Today, bookworms ages 13 and up are encouraged to ditch the cabin fever and embark on a literary adventure.

The Great River Regional Library’s 2025 Winter Reading Challenge theme is The Great Escape, and organizers say readers can immerse themselves in a whole new world, spark their imagination, or learn something new.

Participants can register by clicking here or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker app. Registration can also be done in person at any of the 32 GRRL branches. Then, they can track reading progress using either a paper log or the app. The app boasts bonus features such as book recommendations and badges to keep motivated.

Each library branch will have drawings for special Great Escape mugs and winter hats. Each minute logged for reading counts toward earning prizes.

GRRL supplies Central Minnesota residents with nearly one million books, CDs, DVDs, 250 public computers, and information services.
