Toddler Dies After Accidental Shooting in Otter Tail County

(KNSI) — The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says the fatal shooting of a toddler over the weekend was ruled an accident. 

It happened Sunday evening at a home around ten miles south of Wadena. A GoFundMe page set up to help the family with medical and funeral expenses identifies the child as three-and-a-half-year-old Rudy Sweere.  

Little information surrounding the moments leading up to the shooting have been released, only that it happened around 5:40 p.m. His death was announced Monday afternoon. There were other people in the home at the time. 

Authorities have not said if they plan to press charges.
