(KNSI) – A milk truck overturned in Stearns County Christmas morning.
The accident happened at the intersection of County Road 40 and Mapleview Road near Jopp Lake just before 9:00. A 24-year-old Melrose man was driving the Kenworth semi-truck and tanker trailer.
He told deputies that he got too close to the shoulder, and when the tires caught the softer soil, the vehicle was pulled off the road and rolled onto its side in the ditch.
About 6,400 gallons of milk were inside the tanker, and some of it leaked from the top hatch. The truck driver was unharmed, and the spill was cleaned up thanks to assistance from Albany Fire and Rescue.
