(KNSI) – The Minnesota GOP Congressional Delegation is once again demanding answers from Secretary of State Steve Simon over issues in November’s state legislative races.
The most famous is District 54A, where Scott County officials have admitted that as many as 20 ballots were wrongfully thrown away in Shakopee’s 10th Precinct before being counted. The race was decided by only 14 votes. Republicans are suing over the race in Minnesota’s First Judicial District.
The four congress members first wrote to Simon on the issue on November 20th. They want state officials to produce a list of all discrepancies and errors that occurred across the state. That would likely include District 14B, where early votes from Sherburne County were not initially posted to the state website in the race between incumbent DFL representative Dan Wolgamott and Republican challenger Sue Ek.
Representatives Tom Emmer, Brad Finstad, Michelle Fischbach, and Pete Stauber are also asking for a list of fixes that will be implemented before the next statewide election in 2026. Additionally, they want counties that saw discrepancies held accountable.
The letter asks for a response from Simon’s office by Tuesday, December 31st.
