Man Accused of Having Sex with 12-year-old Girl

(KNSI) – A 20-year-old Marshall man is under arrest for allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old girl in Paynesville and Grove City.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says he was picked up on Friday. Investigators learned the man had been talking to the girl on social media. He then traveled to central Minnesota to meet with the victim on two separate occasions and engaged in sexual activity.

The man is being held on a charge of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is awaiting a first appearance in Meeker County District Court.

The case is still under investigation. KNSI News has a policy of not naming suspects until they are formally charged with a crime.
