(KNSI) — A Sauk Rapids woman has died, and her passenger was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 23 Monday morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol’s preliminary crash report, just after 6:30, 67-year-old Lynette Walentiny was driving north on 25th Avenue Northeast when her Lincoln MKZ collided in the intersection of 23 with a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 46-year-old St. Cloud man. Walentiny was rushed to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her passenger, 73-year-old Darlene Steinhofer, also of Sauk Rapids, suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Pontiac was also injured.
Everyone was wearing their seatbelts. The road was wet at the time of the crash.
