(KNSI) – The St. Cloud City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday night before voting on the 2025 enterprise budget.
Mayor Dave Kleis didn’t include any new fees when he unveiled the $56.3 million budget last month. Enterprise funds support nine key services not financed through property taxes. They include the Municipal Athletic Complex, River’s Edge Convention Center, parking system and ramps, sewer and water, streetlights, and garbage and recycling.
The 2024 budget was slightly over $53 million. Mayor Kleis explained that the city is increasing the budget without raising fees, citing growth in revenue from facilities like the River’s Edge Convention Center and parking systems.
The council will also hold a public hearing on a $6.5 million proposed street project on 22nd Street South between Cooper Avenue South and Oak Grove Road Southwest/County Road 136. The upgrades include reconstructing the road, adding curb and gutter, storm drains, bicycle lanes, sidewalk, and water main improvements. If approved, the project will break ground in 2026.
Residents will also have a chance to share their opinions on 48 road resurfacing projects slated for 2025. The 8.3 miles getting redone will cost $2.3 million.
The meeting gets underway inside St. Cloud City Hall at 6:00 p.m.
