St. Cloud Man Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Gopher Bargain Center

(KNSI) – A man is in custody after allegedly breaking into a discount retailer on St. Cloud’s east side.

Police responded to an alarm around 4:10 Sunday morning at Gopher Bargain Center. When officers arrived, they found a broken door and could hear movement in the building. According to a press release, officers set up a perimeter before searching the inside.

Aided by the Waite Park Police Department K9 unit, Benton County Sheriff’s deputies, and Sartell Police, they found a 44-year-old St. Cloud man with a shopping cart full of stuff he was allegedly attempting to steal.

The suspect was taken to jail and is awaiting formal charges.
