Fatal Accident Monday in Benton County

(KNSI) – At least one person is dead after a multivehicle crash in Benton County early Monday.

The accident happened at the intersection of 25th Avenue Northeast and Highway 23 just after 6:30. A Lincoln MKZ sedan was heading north on 25th when it collided with an eastbound Pontiac Grand Prix.

Minnesota State Patrol says full information on those involved will be released Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. A 46-year-old man from St. Cloud was driving the Grand Prix. The MKZ had a 67-year-old woman behind the wheel with a 73-year-old female passenger.

Road conditions were wet but it is unclear if that played a factor in the accident.
