(KNSI) — A St. Cloud business helped bring some Minnesota pride to National Guard soldiers serving overseas this fall.

KNSI parent company Leighton Media’s human resources manager, Brian Zenzen, also serves as the 34th Infantry Division’s Budget Officer. The unit wanted to design a flag emblazoned with the Red Bulls logo for members and their families. Zenzen turned to Ashley Moe at Magnetic Spark, Leighton’s promotional items and apparel screen printing division.

Staff quickly realized their mission was bigger than helping out a coworker.

Moe says she feels fortunate to deliver something to clients every day that acknowledges major work or educational milestones and never loses sight of their gratitude for such a small showing of kindness. Even still, this assignment stood out.

“We felt very honored. Anything we can do to make these soldiers feel more acknowledged for serving our country. We are absolutely happy to do that.”

After the designs were complete, it took about a month to prepare and get the order to the Middle East.

Roughly 550 Red Bull soldiers left Minnesota on February 1st and trained in Texas before going overseas for a deployment in support of Operation Spartan Shield to relieve a unit from California.
