(KNSI) – An early Sunday vehicle fire has created a mystery in Brockway Township.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out to the 9000 block of Tallow Road at about 3:45. The person phoning in the incident said they had heard a succession of loud booms, and when they looked out their window, a vehicle was already burning.
When deputies arrived on the scene, it was fully engulfed. They determined it had run off the road, but no one was inside. After a sweep nearby, no driver was found in the area. The vehicle was so badly damaged that a VIN number could not be obtained.
The vehicle is thought to be a Nissan Altima between the 2007 and 2012 model years. The fire is still under investigation. The department is asking anyone with more information to call 320-251-4240.
