(KNSI) – The Sauk Rapids Fire Department will take advantage of a little extra foot traffic from Jingle and Mingle on Saturday to collect toys for local families.
Firefighters will have an open house at the station on North Benton Drive between 1:00 and 4:00. Stop by for cookies, coffee, or hot chocolate and bring either a cash donation or a new, unwrapped present. Everything collected will go to Toys for Tots.
If you can’t make it in the afternoon, the fire department will play a big part in the lighted parade that evening. Firefighters will be picking up donations as they make their way down the parade route along 2nd Avenue.
The toy drive is just one of many activities planned during the annual festival.
