(KNSI) — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for much of Minnesota Wednesday.
Light snow and possibly freezing drizzle Wednesday morning will move out, but plummeting temperatures, some snow showers and high winds riding on an arctic front move in behind it. Northwest winds will pick up through the day from 15 to 20 miles an hour early to 25 to 30 miles an hour by the afternoon. Gusts around 45 to 55 miles an hour sometimes are not out of the question. We will see wind chill values in the teens below zero through late Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning. Winds will cause visibility issues for travelers west of the St. Cloud metro.
The wind advisory ends at midnight. Things calm down through the early hours of Thursday, and temperatures will rebound for the weekend, with a high of 40 possible on Sunday.
