(KNSI) – A Glenwood man accused of making and downloading child pornography is now facing federal charges.
Fifty-one-year-old Patrick Wayne Baker has been indicted on two counts of producing and three counts of receiving child pornography. Federal prosecutors say Baker secretly filmed at least six minors between January 2020 and June 2024 while also searching for explicit images of minors.
According to court documents, a deputy received a tip in December 2023 from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a phone in the area that had been downloading sexual images of children. In March, a search warrant was executed on Baker’s home, and his phone was seized. Investigators say they found 36 videos and 46 images of child pornography on the phone. They also allegedly found numerous videos in Baker’s cloud backup account.
He was originally charged in March in Douglas County District Court with six counts of possession of child pornography with victims under 14, two counts for use of minors in pornographic work, and two counts of interference with privacy against a minor.
The investigation, which took several months, was a collaborative effort between the Minnesota BCA, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Pope County Sheriff’s Office.
