(KNSI) – Two water main breaks have St. Cloud Public Works Department employees busy this week.

The most immediate is on 13th Street South. Crews are already making emergency repairs. They expect to be working on the project until Friday. The main is turned off now, but the soccer field at nearby Haws Park has become an impromptu skating rink in one of the penalty boxes.

Much of the road and sidewalk are also under a thick coating of ice. The closure affects 13th Street between 6th and 9th Avenue. Several apartment buildings, the Community OutPost, and Southside Boys and Girls Club are located in the area.

The St. Cloud City Engineer’s Office says 19 1/2 Avenue North is also closed to through traffic until tomorrow. Crews will be repairing a water main between 3rd and 4th Streets. The job is expected to be finished in one day.
