(KNSI) – Organizers of the Sauk Rapids Jingle and Mingle say the event is picking up steam.
They note record interest from groups and individuals outside of Sauk Rapids. The momentum doesn’t stop there. Attendees can expect two new activities. Heidi Sertich discusses plans for a business market.
“We are at 20 businesses up there. They are both retail and services-based. And so everybody’s going to want to come up there and check out to see what’s going to be there. And then, Santa is going to be there also from 9:30 to 4:00.”
The Business Market will be at the Sauk Rapids Government Center. The Artisan Market is back at the Riverside Terrace, part of a slew of events in downtown in anticipation of the lighted parade.
Marla Elness is looking forward to a musical performance scheduled at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. She jokes that after the parade rolls through downtown, she can’t wait to put her feet up and relax to the sound of her favorite carols from an all-star cast of local musicians.
“They have pulled together a whole number of musicians, both in singing, choir type things and band instruments, from the whole central Minnesota area. They have formed a group called the Sauk Rapids-Rice Area Musicians’ Collective, and they are putting on a free Christmas concert.”
The show is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. There will also be downtown bingo, meat raffles, a living nativity, llama wonderama, and more on December 7th.
