(KNSI)—On Tuesday, the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State revealed that a majority of county election offices had received emailed bomb threats since November 5th, when voting ended.

KNSI News reached out to Benton, Sherburne, and Stearns Counties to see if they had been affected. Officials with Sherburne County have yet to reply to our inquiries, but the other two say they have not had any issues.

The Secretary of State called the threats unacceptable. He went on to warn the perpetrators that investigators from all three levels of government are working to arrest those responsible, as counties still need to canvass and complete post-election reviews before they certify the results. “Our office is coordinating with local, state, and federal partners to respond and ensure that our election officials can complete this important work and that those responsible for these threats are held accountable.”
