(KNSI) — At least one person is dead following an accident on Highway 10 in Big Lake Township Wednesday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol’s preliminary crash report says a 25-year-old Elk River man was driving west on Highway 10 when the driver of a Nissan Altima crossed the road at 172nd Street Northwest, and the two cars collided in the intersection.
It happened at 7:40 during the busy morning rush, and the road was closed for a time so a medical helicopter could land and airlift one of the victims. The highway has since reopened.
No names have been released.
