St. Cloud’s 12th Annual Weihnachtsmarkt & Christmas Tree Lighting Set for December 5th

(KNSI) – St. Cloud’s premiere holiday celebration and Christmas tree lighting ceremony is set for Thursday, December 5th.

The 12th annual Weihnachtsmarkt outdoor market celebrates the community’s German roots, which date back to the city’s founding in 1856. The festive kickoff is the ceremonial lighting of the community Christmas tree, featuring Christmas carols by the Minnesota Center Chorale. The event begins at 4:45 p.m. and takes place in front of the River’s Edge Convention Center between Doors B and C.

Following the tree lighting, explore Weihnachtsmarkt, a charming outdoor holiday market inspired by traditional German Christmas markets. The evening will include lebkuchen, coffee, and hot chocolates. Guests can also drink gluhwein, a traditional German spiced wine served warm. The event will also have local arts, crafts and music. Weihnachtsmarkt will be on the third level of the River’s Edge parking ramp from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
