(KNSI) – St. Cloud Tech senior standout Molly Burkstrand was named Miss Soccer for Class AA earlier this week.

At 61 goals, Burkstrand broke the state’s all-time individual season scoring record. The two best years prior to what the Tiger forward managed in 2024 were Meadow Creek Christian’s Liz Woerle in 2004 (60) and Clare Culligan at St. John’s Prep in 2012 (54).

Burkstrand helped lead Tech to their first state tournament appearance since 2001. She’ll be on the pitch with her teammates Thursday evening at Spring Lake Park High School for the MSHSL quarterfinal. The Tigers are unseeded and will tangle with Mankato East, the #3 overall squad.

Burkstrand has been a consistent scorer all season but somehow managed to ramp it up in the playoffs. She had 15 goals in three section games, including six against Detroit Lakes and eight versus the ROCORI Spartans.
