(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development expects the St. Cloud region’s job market to grow fastest in the state.
The agency put out projects between now and 2032. Central Minnesota should see hiring to the tune of 16,302 positions, or a 5.2% surge. That beats the state average of 4.6% and is easily the highest number in Greater Minnesota.
Industries with frequent turnover have the most openings. Occupations like cashiers, fast food workers, and stockers dominate the job market. Luckily, they all require a high school diploma, or less, and are accessible for just about everyone.
Skilled trades and supervisory roles are going to be needed as well. Industrial machinery mechanics are highlighted by DEED as having some of the highest growth rates by industry. Nursing is another field expected to be in a shortage.
For bachelor’s degree holders, management and finance have the best prospects. Accountants and auditors are projected to grow by 6.2% and financial experts will have an eye-popping 18% growth.
If you make it to grad school, look into the health fields. Nurse practitioners and physical therapists place at the top of the list.
