(KNSI) – A trick-or-treat event for goblins and ghouls with special needs is at Country Inn and Suites in St. Cloud.

The 12th annual Great Country Pumpkin Party is Thursday, October 24th, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. KCLD’s Kat has been helping for the last five years and describes the event as “a creative, fun, safe way for your kids if they have special needs or for an adult in your life who has special needs, and it’s a scaled-down version of Halloween. You get the candy, and you get to get dressed up.”

The hotel opens each room on the bottom floor for businesses to decorate and hand out candy. Kat told KNSI News that the organizers go to great lengths to make it comfortable for anyone with sensory issues. “The lights are on. There’s no flashing strobes or anything like that. There’s no spooky situation. It’s not loud.”

Besides getting candy, families can enjoy other activities like face painting, eating pizza, games and a visit from local firefighters.
