(KNSI) – Waite Park residents will get to hear from two city council members seeking to replace the city’s long-time mayor after he announced he wouldn’t serve another term.
Mike Linquist and Ken Schmitt will take part in a candidate forum on October 22nd at city hall at 6:30 p.m. The two men are expected to discuss their plans for Waite Park’s future and tackle pressing issues facing the city today.
Mayor Rick Miller served between 1996 and 2001 and again between 2007 and now, spending 19 years as mayor.
While the mayor serves a two-year term, council members serve four-year terms. Vic Schulz and Sarah Starling are running for Lindquist and Schmitt’s seat on the council.
