(KNSI) — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the victims in a double shooting Sunday afternoon.
According to a press release, around 4:45, deputies responded to the house in Gilmanton Township and found 32-year-old Gaudencio Martinez and 35-year-old Martin Ramirez Marcial, both of Foley, and both had been shot. One was hit in the neck; the other was hit in the abdomen. Martinez, Marcial, and the suspect, Ismael Vanquez Santos, all lived together at the house, and Santos had been drinking. Santos threatened to kill the two and pulled out a gun before shooting them. Marcial ran to get help and told police he and Martinez were surprised by Santos’s actions, saying he “went crazy.”
The men were taken to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital for surgery and are listed in satisfactory condition.
A search of the property turned up what police say they believe was the gun used in the assault.
Santos has been charged with two counts of first degree assault and two counts of second degree assault. Bail has not been set.
