(KNSI) – Following the death of teenager Alexander Mick on Saturday night, the Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride is shutting down for the rest of the 2024 Halloween season.

The announcement was posted to the event’s website, saying “Out of respect to the family involved, the organizers have made the decision to cancel the remaining nights of the 2024 Harvest of Horror.”

A 13-year-old boy from Rice died there Saturday night after being run over by a trolley wagon being pulled by a tractor. Life saving measures were taken at the scene but were unsuccessful. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says Mick was pronounced dead at the scene.

Organizers called Mick’s death a “tragic accident,” adding, they are “deeply shaken” by what happened and are asking for “thoughts, prayers and support” for Mick’s family, friends, and all of those affected by the tragedy.

Management says they are cooperating with authorities.

The accident remains under investigation.
