(KNSI) – St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, St. Cloud Subaru and Sartell High School all teamed up to tackle cancer.

Fans decked out in pink packed the Sartell Football Field on October 11th in a show of solidarity for the cause. Upon entry, those dressed in pink received raffle tickets, offering a chance to win one of three prizes during halftime, courtesy of SCFCU and St. Cloud Subaru.

This year’s proceeds from merchandise sales, raffle tickets, and donations will benefit the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund and TriUnity Foundation, both dedicated to supporting the cancer community and those with terminal illnesses. During halftime, Jed Meyer, SCFCU President and CEO and St. Cloud Subaru’s Bobby Konnight announced that their organizations would match the total amount raised in 2024.

“We’re incredibly fortunate,” said Bruce Thompson, Sartell’s Activities & Athletics Director. “Our community and key stakeholders, like Jed Meyer and Bobby Konnight, deeply care about Sartell High School and our community. Their dedication is evident in everything they’ve done.”

The group hopes to build on the success of the 2023 Tackle Cancer game, which raised over $10,000. Officials are still counting and hope to have a total soon.

Tackle Cancer has raised over $3.4 million dollars to support Minnesota’s cancer community since 2012.
