(KNSI) — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle head on crash on westbound Interstate 94 Friday morning.

It happened near LaBeaux Avenue/mile marker 200 in Albertville around 9:00. It appears a driver crossed over from east 94 and drove into oncoming traffic. The crash is in a construction zone and there is no median barrier. Sources toll KNSI News it appeared at least one person had to be cut out of their vehicle and two people were critically injured.

Video from the scene showed the road was closed while medical helicopters landed on the freeway, but it has since reopened.
