(KNSI) – Learn about the legacy of land in Stearns County that has helped families feed the nation for a hundred years or more.

The St. Cloud Area Genealogists are putting on “County Roots: Stearns History Museum Century Farm Program.” According to the SCAG, the program’s combination of genealogy and historical land records honors the legacy of farming families in the county and their lasting impact on the community and culture.

Since 1978, more than 400 farms have received recognition, and expert Michelle Skroch will discuss the program’s legacy. Skroch was born and raised on a dairy farm in Brockway Township and was recently hired as the Stearns History Museum’s registrar and century farm coordinator.

The event begins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15th, at the Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud. The program is free to SCAG members and $7 for non-members.
