(KNSI) – The family of a man missing for 57 years is begging for information on what happened to him.
Roy George Benn was last seen eating breakfast at King’s Supper Club, a cafe attached to Claude’s Shell Station, on Highway 10 in Sartell at 4:00 a.m. on September 25th, 1967. Benn was wearing a dark-colored suit, a white French-cuffed shirt and a pair of gold and pearl cuff links. The 59-year-old man hasn’t been seen since.
He was driving a metallic blue four-door 1963 Buick Electra with Minnesota license plate number 6DU-516 with serial number 8J4036010. The car disappeared with Benn and has never been found.
Investigators say no one ever used Benn’s credit cards, wrote any checks on his bank account, or re-licensed his car anywhere. His loved ones stated he was happy with his life, and they don’t believe he would have abandoned his family.
At the time of his disappearance, Benn was a widower and owned an apartment building and St. Cloud Gas and Appliance Service. According to his family, the Sauk Rapid man was well off with no debts and was known to have a substantial amount of cash. Police say he may have been carrying several thousand dollars when he vanished.
Benn was declared legally dead eight years after his disappearance.
Anyone with any information on what could have happened to Benn is asked to call the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at 1-877-996-6222.
