(KNSI) – The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is bringing back tours of the jail and Law Enforcement Center for the fall.
The events are scheduled for Thursday, October 3rd, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. or Saturday, October 5th, from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. You must sign up early, as the number of people who can participate is limited. To register, email sheriff.tours@stearnscountymn.gov with the size of your group and which date you want to take the tour.
The tours are separate from the town hall-style events being done by the Stearns County commissioners to make the case to voters for approval of a 3/8 cent sales tax referendum this November. They may serve a similar purpose, though. It is a perfect opportunity for residents to get a first-hand look at the facility and why a new justice center is needed.
