(KNSI) – St. Cloud’s Festi-Fall is expanding in its second year, bringing the fun to both sides of the Mississippi River.

The two-day event will feature downtown St. Cloud on Saturday, September 21st and the east side on Sunday, September 22nd. Handyman’s Hardware Sales Manager and St. Cloud East End board member Ashley Severson told KNSI News businesses along East St. Germain wanted to start something to attract people to the other side of the river to witness its redevelopment over the last year and a half.

Severson says Festi-Fall had many similar things they were looking to do, so the two sides elected to share the celebration. “We decided to conjoin together in a two-day festival to really celebrate downtown St Cloud as one whole unit, and this is an effort, along with the city, of really creating one bigger downtown that just so happens to be split up by the river.”

Severson is inviting everyone to the free event. “We hope that the community can really come and gather and celebrate the fall and enjoy our community.”

On Saturday, the west side of downtown is all about fall flavors, family fun and the arts. Indulge in delicious candy corn-inspired menu items at local bars and restaurants. Bring the kids for the St. Cloud Farmer’s Market, participate in exciting activities downtown, and grab a ticket to an “Into the Woods” performance at the Paramount. There will also be a downtown history tour.

East St. Germain Street will be closed from Riverside to Lincoln Avenue on Sunday for a full-blown street fair. There will be activities for the whole family and people of all ages. The fair will feature 12 food trucks and over 30 art vendors. There will be two separate stages for live music. A classic car show and parade will roll down East St. Germain and then set up in the Copper Kitchen parking lot.
