(KNSI) — An Annandale man is jailed in Wright County after allegedly stabbing his wife following an argument at their home on September 12th.

According to the criminal complaint, 85-year-old Rodney Allen Anderson called 911 just before 10:00 a.m. and told dispatchers what he had done, and he wasn’t sure if his wife was alive. Police arrived and went into the house to check on the woman and found her lying on the kitchen floor. First responders attempted life-saving measures but saw she had been stabbed several times and pronounced her dead at the scene. Officers cleared the home and found a “large kitchen knife in the sink that appeared to have blood on it.”

Court documents say Anderson had blood spatters on his glasses, nose, hand, clothing and shoes. He told investigators the two had been married for more than 65 years, but they argued a lot, and they started fighting that day around 7:00 a.m. and continued fighting right up until he called 911. Telling officers, “I guess I lost my head”, he grabbed a knife from the butcher block, but does not remember how many times he stabbed his wife.

Anderson has been charged with intentional second degree murder without premeditation.
