(KNSI) – Coffee lovers can tantalize their tastebuds in St. Cloud this weekend at the third annual Cloud Coffee Fest.

Saturday’s events take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with around 20 of the region’s best examples of the perfect cup of joe. The event will be held in the Kinder Coffee Lab’s parking lot. Organizer and Kinder Coffee Partner Taylor Feero told KNSI News they’re gravitating towards local roasters instead of shops. “We like roasters that care deeply about coffee; where it comes from, the farms they choose, and the high quality product that coffee can be.”

He says the relationship between the roasters creates a special camaraderie that’s fun to see. Feero believes small shops are masters of the craft, giving them an advantage over the big chains. “Where the art artistry comes in is, how far can I push this bean to get the most flavor out of it? And so, with small batch roasters like this, you’re able to really experiment, have fun with it and produce the best product.”

Coffee beans from every region of the world respond to heat and time under fire differently, according to Feero. Kinder Coffee prefers its beans from Brazil, Ethiopia, and Mexico.

Besides the java, the showcase includes bounce houses for the kids, bean bags, stick-on tattoos and more. There are also free classes about pouring coffee and making the perfect brew at home, food trucks and merchandise.

General admission is free. VIP tickets include a commemorative sweatshirt and early access to drinks. Bottomless mini-mugs are also on sale.
