(KNSI) – Central Minnesota Relay for Life wants you to throw on your running shoes for its annual 5K in Sartell on Saturday, September 14th.
If you sign up by the end of Friday, you can pre-register for $25. Registering the day of the event costs $30.
The event’s fundraising goal is $112,000, which benefits the American Cancer Society. As of Friday afternoon, donors had already pledged over $80,700.
The Relay for Life event runs all day. The path at the Sartell Community Center will be lined with luminaries honoring those lost to cancer, those currently fighting it, or survivors.
Team members will circle the path in a relay fashion for hours. Certain laps will be themed. Participants will celebrate area sports teams, wear glow sticks, dance, or even blow bubbles.
The Sartell Community Center is located at 850 19th Street South, Sartell. If there is bad weather, the event will be moved inside.
