(KNSI) – It’s your last chance to apply for an antlerless deer tag for the firearms and muzzleloader season.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters they have until today (Thursday, September 5th) to get their names in the lottery to take a doe in one of the 67 deer permit areas where it’s required. That’s three less than the 2023 hunting season.
Hunters who have already bought their tags are automatically entered into the lottery if they select a lottery zone. The DNR has been conservative with antlerless hunting options in recent years due to low deer populations caused by wolves and harsh winters.
Deer lottery winners will be notified by postcard authorizing them to take a doe using their regular license in their selected permit area.
