(KNSI) – Minnesota students considering a career in law enforcement can now apply for the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association Scholarship Program.

The MSA is offering scholarships to help students cover the costs of law enforcement training and education. Up to eighteen $2,000 scholarships are available this year for students enrolled in specific programs such as a mandated Peace Officer Standards and Training skills course, those in their second year of a two-year law enforcement program, in their third or fourth year of a four-year college criminal justice program and students demonstrating financial need.

The MSA says having well trained law enforcement officers is critical and wants to support students dedicated to it as a career path.

Applications and program details are available online by clicking here. Applications can also be picked up in person at your local sheriff’s office.

Applications must be submitted by November 15th. Scholarship winners will be announced on December 30th, 2024.
