(KNSI) – Sauk Rapids is debuting its new pickleball courts.
City staff have been hard at work converting the tennis facility at Bob Cross Park to the new smaller dimensions. The eight courts zig zag around two group waiting areas. The plan is to add seating to the bullpens so players can interact socially as they kill time before getting a chance to play.
Bob Cross Park is located at 40 10th Avenue South. It has a softball and soccer complex, as well as the Sauk Rapids-Rice High School football and baseball stadiums. Visitors can also enjoy the nearby nature trails.
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country and is enjoyed by people of all ages. Several area cities have been adding courts in the past couple of years to help meet demand.
