(KNSI) – Three central Minnesotans have been selected by the governor to serve on statewide task forces.
Sauk Rapids-Rice School District Business Services Director Tracey Fiereck has been named to the Distribution of Endowment Fund Earnings Task Force. The group is charged with examining the historical returns on the permanent school fund endowment and evaluating and recommending potential changes to its distribution.
College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s Political Science Professor Matt Lindstrom has been selected to serve with the Minnesota Humanities Center. His term will last four years. The center conducts professional development for educators and the public. It also creates one-of-a-kind educational resources, partners communities and organizations to offer humanities-based programs statewide, and manages state and federal grants. He is replacing Kristin White.
St. Cloud Resident Maria Shavers will replace Solana Madison on the Young Women’s Initiative board. Launched in 2016, Minnesota’s Young Women’s Initiative works to better women of color, LGBTQ+ youth, young women with disabilities, and transgender youth.
