(KNSI) – The deadline for disabled veterans to apply for a seat in a duck blind during the 2024 duck hunting season is fast approaching.
Applications are being accepted until September 16th. During the annual event, eight disabled vets will get to hunt on land otherwise unavailable to the public. The waterfowl hunters will be selected through a random lottery, and winners will be notified by 5:00 p.m. on September 20th.
The county works with several partners to provide the hunt at Robert Ney Regional Park near Maple Lake on October 5th. Anyone interested in the hunt must apply to the Wright County Veterans Services Office.
